The kitchen/dining area has been designed to be open plan and sociable, with a large centre island and a farmhouse table to seat 14 people. It is fully fitted with all modern facilities including a dishwasher and a utility area houses an additional fridge freezer ensuring plenty of space for \\\'cool drinks\\\'. The lounge has a large original fireplace housing a log burner. There are three sofas for your comfort, satellite TV, video and a bookshelf and video library to suit all ages. There are 3 bath/shower rooms and 6 bedrooms sleeping a maximum of 14 people.
The private solar heated swimming pool is surrounded by a decked sunbathing terrace and is overlooked by a covered veranda which is ideal for outdoor dining. The pool is securely fenced with access from the veranda and garden by lockable gates. The garden is mainly laid to lawn and orchard. There is ample garden furniture and a large brick built barbeque.
Within the grounds is a games room with a full size pool table.
Places of Interest DUCEY 7 km away is our nearest town. It is host to the historical Montgommery Chateau which is often open to the public for exhibitions and tours. During the summer months the grounds are surrounded by magnificent floral displays.The staff of the Tourist information Office which is located opposite the chateau are extremely helpful in providing information about this and other attractions both in and around Ducey.
THE BAY OF MONT ST MICHEL has many beaches and sights typical of the Normandy region. A little further west brings you to the edge of Brittany and the beautiful seaside town of CANCALE celebrated for its oyster farms. The coast road continues past some glorious beaches to the magnificent walled city of ST MALO with its abundant shops and seafood restaurants.
AVRANCHES Just a short drive away Avranches has some wonderful streets for shopping, garden admirers and historians alike. From The Jardin des Plantes is a fantastic view across the bay of le Mont St Michel.
ST JAMES Again a short drive and is home to the American World War 2 Cemetary.
ST HILAIRE DU HARCOUET to be found 9km away. Whilst a lot larger than Ducey it has certainly not lost its charm. With numerous bars and restaurants, the pavement culture is much in evidence. The local Wednesday market here is the biggest weekly agricultural market in Normandy.
There\\\'s still so much more to do: benefit from the sea air on the nearby stretches of sandy beach between Genets and Granville. Visit France\\\'s premier spa town of Bagnoles De L\\\'Orne or the medieval town of Fougeres. Walks and cycle routes through nearby National Park Forests. Watch coppersmiths/bellmakers at Villedieu-Les-Poeles which is also home to the Zoo de Champrepus. Take a boat trip down the river Rance visiting the medieval town of Dinan. Further a field a day trip can take you all round the D-Day beaches and Bayeux Tapestry or a boat trip can take you to the islands of Jersey or Guernsey.
Normandy is a beautiful region of France, easily accessible from the UK and yet a world away. It is a verdant land of delightful scenery, with friendly local people and of course delicious food and wine. The pace of life is slow.
