Places to visit are, La Rochelle a historic sea port with many restaurants serving delicious local food at reasonable prices, also home to the sea life centre. Cognac, there are conducted tours around the distilleries, which are very interesting especially Remy Martin with some conducted in English. Angouleme is a ramparted city with magnificent cathedral and historic town Limoges famous for its porcelain and enamel. Paris and Disney Land are one and a half hours from Poitiers by T.G.V.
